Membership

Joining a church is joining a household

Membership is a covenant, with vows in both directions. The congregation takes responsibility for you and your family, and you take your place in the household.

The path

Three steps from visitor to member

  1. 01

    Worship with us

Membership starts in the pew, at the Table, and at the meal afterward. Come for a few Sundays and let the congregation get to know your family.

  2. 02

    Talk with an elder

When you are ready, tell an elder you are interested in joining. They will sit down with you, hear where you have come from, and walk you through what membership at Christ Church involves.

  3. 03

    Be received

New members are received publicly, with vows made before the congregation that is taking responsibility for them. If you are transferring from another faithful church, the elders will handle the letters.

Wondering whether your baptism, your background, or your questions are a problem? Ask. The elders would rather hear the real question than have you sit on it. Contact the church or catch any elder on a Sunday.

Step one is this Sunday

No paperwork starts the process. A visit does.
